Hawaii on Film

A few months ago Clark and I had the unparalleled pleasure of having 8 days to ourselves in Hawaii. Because I was shooting a wedding there during our stay, I brought all my gear. Oh! You can see that wedding HERE if you so desire. Besides the day of the wedding, my cameras barely made it out of the bag. Here we were in total paradise and I had absolutely NO desire to shoot anything. Floating in the sea, burying my feet in the sand, drinking fruity cocktails, and intense battles of cribbage and 21 consumed my psyche and my body. My post this month is mainly devoid of humans, but surely not absent of memories and tiny pieces of this Hawaiian paradise that renewed my soul.

Our theme for the film circle this month was change. For me, this change was being able to be alone with my hubby, far removed from responsibility and the mundane routines of the day to day. The reunion with our babies was sweeter than my morning pineapple, but I firmly believe that every mom needs some time like this alone.

Tech nerdery:

Camera: Canon EOS 3 with 35 1.4 and 135 2.0

Film: Ektar

Lab: Indie

Please follow the circle around to the beautiful and uber talented Megan Dill for her version of “change” this month.
